"Unhand me you wretched grunts!" Werman struggled against heavy weights which the Koopas clasped around his legs, weighing him down. His arms were left free, though little use that did without his arsenal.
Larry and Dorothea were brought up behind him in their own unqiue bonds. Clearly, whoever the people living here are, they were well equipped. Something Larry never thought to mention.
Larry's eye was bruised and there was blood on his face, though Werman wasn't sure if it was his own. The soldiers were reluctant to chain the little girl at first, but then her chomp bit off one of their legs. Her pets were probably dead, which made her of little use in the situation.
"Larry, you rat, You said this pyramid was deserted and full of treasure."
"Hey, I said it mighta had some traps, didn't I? Monsters count as traps. My nose can't pick up everything."
"You didn't say anything about there being an entire army living here." Larry couldn't think of a rebuttal, but the Koopas keeping them captive shut him up.
"Make way!" Their captives filed to the sides while a Wiggler approached the trio. He glanced at their chains, then stared at them for a moment. Apparently seeing no threat, he moved closer and shook the flower on his head over them. They flinched at the pollen, but it appeared to do nothing. Werman tried to brush it off but it clung to his body.
The Wiggler nodded to himself as if this confirmed his thoughts, and he marched out of sight. Werman tried to follow his path, but the pollen brought on a series of sneezes.
When he got it under control, he looked up to see a Hammerbro standing over them. Werman wasn't sure if he was actually looking at them. His right eye was incredibly swollen. An arrow shaft protruded from the eye, though it didn't look as like it was a recent injury.
"You're a sorry looking party." The Hammerbro sounded bored, and simply continued to stare.
"Excuse me?"
"Usually teams manage to at least get past a few traps, but it sounds like you couldn't even beat the first wave of minions. Tapper tells me two of you are just minor magicians." He spoke the last bit with disgust.
"Minor? Now, see here, I'm-" The Hammerbro cut off his remark by smashing a large hammer into the ground at his feet. He didn't look like he wanted to drag this conversation out. Werman started to worry. Perhaps if Dorothea could reach some insects...
"Don't know why you'd come here, anyways. This dungeon hasn't been around for very long; we're still waiting for our first shipment from the Horde. That means we haven't got any treasure yet, since you're clearly amateurs at this." Upon hearing this, Werman forgot about his predicament for a moment and cast a glance at Larry. He saw Werman's accusing glance and risked speaking up.
"No, there's definitely something here. I caught a whiff of something big. It could be felt for miles. No way I'm mistaken."
