Ray's attack force:
=============================
I'm sending:
25 Lagoon Stalkers (neuro knives)
Nexus is sending:
65 Dwarf Bulbears
35 Dwarf Crystal Bulborbs
4 Soldier Breadbugs
2 Gatling Groinks
====================================
Ray's Plans:
first, I'll wait till night. So should nexus (as far as i know.) once its sufficiantly dark I'll leave from my vantage point and take my 25 pikmin with me. We'll try to stay away from combating any enemies, but black pikmin under cover of night should be able to dispatch a few guards fairly easily without detection. Once we get to our destination, the research storage, it shouldn't be terribly difficult to break in. Once there, we will begin unloading petals and iron out and ferrying them to nexus' army. Once their arms/mouths are full, the blacks will go back for one last load of petals to carry themselves. Should the pikmin be discovered, they'll signal to Nexus to charge in to help us. In the case of a fight, all my troops (remember commander is fighting with iron hand as well.) Will be attacking his specials, the poison should do a little bit on the water lilies, who i'm assuming are weaker on land, and the knives should also to quite a bit of damage. Of course you'll be reading tech though, so you'll see all that. Either way, we'll also set the petals remaining in the resource storage on fire, damaging the storage and the petals themselves. Of course we wouldn't set OUR petals on fire, however.
Nexus's Plans:
Sorry about the late message, my computer glitched up yesterday and I didn't have time to fix it.
My Troops:
Ordinaries:
65 Dwarf Bulbears
35 Dwarf Crystal Bulborbs
Specials:
4 Soldier Breadbugs
2 Gatling Groinks
My troops will wait a small distance away as to not be noticed and also to receive plundered resources from my ally. If the alarm is raised then my troops will go in and and support my ally while raiding any remaining resources. If there are no resources left they will try and destroy the resources warehouse and the barracks.
Lt. P's Plans:
Our Leader: Father Bullim (Water bulborb)
Regular Followers:
140 Blue Pikmin (Standard swimming blue pikmin that are immune to water)
140/5000
Special Followers:
20 Lilly-pads (An Aquatic version of the Creeping Chrysanthemum. It's head is a Lilly pad trap with the only sign of it being a head are the small thorny teeth. Their head is their only weakness too like it's other family members.)
20/500
Total
160
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The special 20:
They are already in position under water for that is their natural home. (the Lilly pads) 10 will be used as a trap to lure the enemy to a closer path to my church. The other 10 will search for aquatic enemies. Once identified they will over whelm them.
Blue Crusaders: (Blue Pikmin)
They will hold the main line. Jump, swarm, kill.
Father Bullim:
I will assist the under water effort if needed.
Nexus's Plans part 2:
After not receiving any supplies Commander O'Malley(Later to be replaced by Maximillian Terror, check my log) realises something is wrong so he bombards the oncoming forces and tells his gatling groinks to aim their fire at the resource warehouses to destroy them and set it ablaze, if this task is accomplished he directs their fire to the barracks.
Also my troops are in tight formations, as they are based on the roman legions. The dwarf bulbears are the first 3 lines with dwar crystal bulborbs in between everyother bulbear in the 2 and 3 line. All the remaining dwarf crystal bulborbs form 2 lines in the back. This way they can concentrate fire and bombard large areas.
My special form up a squad and take out any large troops and well defended area.
Ray's Plans part 2:
well now that we're in this predicament, just hide the petals we have (maybe 100, 4 per pikmin) and sneak out to the battlefield. The blacks will slit the throats of any blue pikmin they can find, hopefully not being spotted for a small amount of time. Once a sizable amount of pikmin are dead Lok'tar and a small band of black pikmin will hunt down LtP's commander and attempt to kill him. If he can't be found then I'll just have them take out special troops.
Lt. P's Plans part 2:
The 10 Lily-pads scouting will rejoin and make a second bridge way on the east side. 20 Blue-Pikmin form the rear line will lure some of the main attack force claiming to be "Anti-Blax" spies. Sent to scout the base and kill Father Bullim. The enemy will then land on the Lily-pads and be unknowingly eaten. The west Lily-pad bridge which is already there will send 20 Blue-Pikmin to do the same thing on that side. They will then flank them at the same time.
Nexus's Plans Part 3:
O'malley, after realising his troops were innefective orders his gatling groinks to focus fire at the troops blocking the way to the base. After weakening their defenses he sends the soldier breadbugs and 30 dwarf bulbears to try and break through the line. If they succeed he pulls all of his troops in, and moves on to destroy all he can while setting up troops in defensive positions to hold off the aquatic nomads.
The dwarf crystal bulbears are ordered to spread out their fire to hold back enemy troops from moving in while the other troops try and break the lines.
This is just a change I for got to add.
If we are successful at breaking through the line we hold him off the enemies in their own base while we raid his resources and destroy his buildings. Then after we do that we will either break through his remaining soldiers or simply walk over all the dead bodies. To prevent our soldiers from attacking allies or vice versa we light torches using some sticks laying around and strikers O'Malley brought with him to light his pipe
Lt. P's plans 3:
The Black fiends are visible because they are being too swift moving so distortions can be seen (plus the church would have candles if you think about it). 30 Blue pikmin and 5 Lily-pads will fall back to assist Father Bullim. At this point he is aware if a posible fate.
The others will push back the forward assult. Half of the remaining Lily pads sould kill the Groinks while the rest push and try to kill the Commander. The Lily-pads that kill the Groinks when done will re-group and aid in the secondary objective to kill the Commander.
Part 1: End of the Day
The Aquatic Nomads were going about their daily business, not suspecting that an army lay right on their doorstep.
Lok'tar and his ally's force waited on the landbridge for nightfall. Yet a few of the newer Pikmin were nervous. Lok'tar assured them his plan would work, but they didn't see how. They were a large force bottle-necked on a narrow strip of land in plain sight, and a few swore the plants were staring at them.
---
When nightfall finally came, Lok'tar lead the black Pikmin into the base. They encountered a few Pikmin, but they quickly, and more importantly, silently killed them. They were surprised to see how desolate the place looked.
Once they reached the Resource Storage, they began gathering as much as they could in their arms and started to head back. Before they could get any to their allies, a sudden alarm rang out.
---
The Blue Pikmin were surrounding the land bridge, waiting for O'Malley's forces to attack. They could not conceal themselves well on the land bridge, and the Lily-Pads had spotted them. The Blue Pikmin were prepared to block the land bridge and swarm the enemies. The Black Pikmin had not been noticed, due to the darkness.
---
Lok'tar cursed, unable to carry out their plan, but had a brilliant solution in case it went wrong.
"Burn the petals!" He yelled to the troops. They looked at each other, confused.
"Uh, boss, we don't have any way to start a fire..."
---
O'Malley's force, unable to see well in the dark, saw the Blue Pikmin. They thought it was the Black Pikmin due to the darkness, and were going to collect resources. The Blue Pikmin, thinking they were about to strike, swarmed the nearest Dwarfs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, I know some things might need to be explained. This is my first attempt at writing a battle, so I hope it doesn't have a lot of problems.
Lord Raymond's and Nexus's force is about equal to LtP's force, and he counted on waiting for nightfall. The only land nearby was the Land Bridge, so they had to wait there. But, the force being large, it was hard to conceal, and they were spotted.
Lord Raymond was going to ferry the petals to Nexus's force, but the Blue Pikmin were instructed to hold the main line. If spotted, he planned to burn the resource storage and the petals, but had no way to start a fire. The Black Pikmin aren't spotted yet, but they're separated from Nexus's force.
Fighting is about to begin on the landbridge, but both sides have a disadvantage from the darkness.
There's probably more complaints, so if anyone has one, just speak up. This is a good time to alter your plans. If no one needs to alter theirs, I'll go ahead and write the second update.
Part 2: Nothing Gained, Nothing Lost
The Dwarf Bulbears, after a brief panic, formed a row and began moving forward. The Blue Pikmin kept them back as well as they could, but they were unarmed and could not do much harm to the troops clustering together. Bullim gave them shouts of encouragement from the church.
O'Malley, knowing his allies intended to set the Resource Storage on fire, instructed the Groinks to do it. The Groinks aimed at what they thought was the Resource Storage. Two hit the empty ammunition storage. One missed completely and the other hit the church. Bullim looked seriously ticked off.
The Groinks decided to wait until they were closer.
A few Blue Pikmin in the back we're getting on Lily Pads. They had a plan.
The Lily Pads started to form a bridge on both sides of the big bridge. The Groinks immediately aimed. The Blue Pikmin hastily spoke.
"Wait! We're anti-Blax spies!"
O'Malley gave them a cold stare. Or at least, the Pikmin thought he did. It was too dark to tell.
"Who are you working for?"
The Blue Pikmin hesitated, which was enough for O'Malley. The Groinks fired at a few of the Lily Pads. The Lily Pads attacked from both sides and caused several Dwarfs to fall into the sea.
Lok'tar was faring better. After concealing their petals, they silently crept over to the back of the Blue Pikmin and slit their throats. The majority of the Pikmin were focused on O'Malley's force and didn't notice.
The Aquatic Nomads were doing well. The enemies were surrounded on all sides, and the Dwarf Crystal Bulborbs were focused on the Lily Pads. The Dwarf Bulbears weren't making much progress without them. A Bulborb can only eat so much Pikmin.
Lok'tar, after slitting several throats, knew he had to do something bigger. They were superior to these cannon fodder. They shouldn't have to deal with underlings. They would deal more damage by taking out bigger threats. And he knew where one would be.
He turned toward the church. He signaled to a few Black Pikmin and set off for the church. The Black Pikmin followed him inside.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, a few things.
LtP's plan was to get some of the Bulborbs onto the Lily Pads by pretending they were spies. They didn't have any great ways to convince them, and the Blue Pikmin were on them so it would have been difficult for his plan to work.
It doesn't need much of a mention, but if anyone is wondering why the Navel Gun hasn't been used, it's because LtP has no ammo.
I didn't get any plans for what to do for the majority of the Blue Pikmin or Bullim, so the Blue Pikmin are just blocking the bridge and Bullim is just sitting around in the church.
The Gattling Groinks had instructions, but it's too dark for them to aim at something that far. They're currently focusing on Lily Pads.
This battle was hard to write because everyone's plans managed to cut out vital parts of their enemies' plans. Hopefully this doesn't get much complaints. Hopefully it's not written too badly.
Part 3: A Commander's Last Stand
Father Bullim knelt on the alter, praying to Blax.
"I pray to you, Lord Blax..."
Lok'tar walked in silently.
"...ensure the safety of our peaceful group..."
Lok'tar walked toward him, raising his Iron Hand.
"...prosper in this new land..."
Lok'tar brought down the Iron hand.
Bullim screeched.
Back at the bridge, O'Malley was working even harder on breaking through Aquatic Nomad's last defense.
The Gatling Groinks aimed ahead of them, preparing to fire. The blasts should break the line and get the army through.
They never managed to fire. The Lily Pads, ignoring the Dwarf Bulborbs, had decided to focus on the main threat: O'Malley and the Specials.
The Lily Pads pushed the specials into the water. The Breadbugs didn't stand a chance in the sea. The Groinks, however, being half-fish, put up a fight. Along with Crystal Bulborbs, managed to take a few down before Death claimed them.
They didn't manage to take down O'Malley, however. He was no longer there. In his place was a small hole in the ground.
Back at the main lines, the Blue Pikmin heard Father Bullim's screech. Many of them turned to go assist him, leaving only a few Lily Pads and a small group of Blue Pikmin to defend against the remaining Bulborbs.
The Blue Pikmin that tried to come to Father Bullim's aid, however, ran into the Black Pikmin. The Black Pikmin, despite being few in numbers, were stronger than them and could take on several Pikmin each. Along with the knives, they drove the Blue Pikmin back to the main line.
Father Bullim was badly hurt. He could not flee. But he turned to face the intruders. Despite his condition, he carried on with his talking.
"Black fiends who defile this holy island, Blax shall avenge those who have been slain..."
He didn't carry on, wisely deciding to fight back before they struck again. He launched a stream of water, but that did little effect on them. Lok'tar was up again and ready to strike. Bullim couldn't move out of the way completely and got grazed by it, but it didn't hurt nearly as much. The poison had been washed off.
Bullim bit Lok'tar's arm and managed to throw him a short distance. But now the Black Pikmin were on their feet and quickly surrounded him, each slashing him with their knives. Bullim did not raise.
Lok'tar was also having some difficulties. The poison from the blades has washed off onto the floor and some poison had seeped into his wound. The poison was slowly moving through his veins. He would not be able to fight for a while.
By now the Blue Pikmin were nearly defeated. They had been weakened by the Bulborbs, and now the Black Pikmin had joined the fight. They had only one choice: Flee.
The remaining Lily Pads and Blue Pikmin dived into the water, where they could not be followed.
Despite the apparent victory, O'Malley's force had taken a large blow. Many of the Bulborbs had been sweep into the sea and lost. Lok'tar was injured by his own poison and would not fight for days. Only O'Malley, who had hid underground, was in prefect condition.
They had nothing left to do but take the petals. They would have carried off the iron, but there wasn't enough to carry it off. The Gatling Groinks had been killed, so they could do nothing to the buildings.
Once they had finally left, the Aquatic Nomads emerged. It was dawn, and now they could see clearly. The island was littered with corpses and stained with blood. Their church was coated in poison and blood.
As they buried the bodies of their comrades, they were only driven on, knowing Blax would not let this crime go unpunished.
END OF BATTLE
Alright, I know a lot of things will probably be said, so I'll address any issues I can think of.
Bullim could not have survived the encounter without backup, which could not arrive because of the black pikmin in the way. He was cornered by an armed commander and several armed specials. I also couldn't find any infomation on what a Water Bulborb was, so I assumed it was an aquatic bulborb that spits water.
Nexus didn't manage to make much progress due to the Lily Pads. They had effectively kept troops from overwhelming the Blue Pikmin by pushing them into the sea and causing them to drown. The land they were on was too narrow for much combat, so it was hard for troops to proceed without falling. The Groinks could not be used effectively because of the darkness and distance, hinted early.
The Blue Pikmin, despite having the troops bottlenecked into the narrow landbridge, would not fare well without the Lily Pads to assist. They were unarmed and unable to do much other than punch troops. The Black Pikmin were all specials, and armed, meaning it was effectively 250 armed pikmin against 100-50 unarmed Blue Pikmin left that had been combating the entire battle. Since I thought you would prefer to keep your army still (You still have iron and the storages. Maybe your ally can help fill in the petals) they fled instead of fighting to the death. Sorry about the losses, but it could be worse if you didn't use the bridge to your advantage.
And with that, the battle is over. Achievements, requisition and losses will be up shortly.
